About Greater Sandusky Partnership

The Greater Sandusky Partnership (GSP) is a regional chamber dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and economic vibrancy of the Greater Sandusky Bay Region. Our mission is to build a thriving region through three main efforts:

About the Internship

The Intern will support three key initiatives during their 10-week internship:

  1. Updating a Housing Needs Assessment for GSP’s Policy Center by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing housing data.
  2. Supporting Regional Marketing Efforts by assisting the Director of Marketing and Creative Services in streamlining communications and developing digital campaigns.
  3. Surveying Downtown Sandusky Storefronts to help maintain an inventory of available properties for economic development.

Intern Responsibilities

Housing Needs Assessment Support:

  • Research and compile updated housing market data, including rental/homeownership trends, affordability metrics, and housing stock changes.
  • Review demographic and economic shifts that impact housing demand.
  • Assist in developing GIS maps, charts, graphs, and infographics to illustrate key findings.

Marketing and Communications Support:

  • Assist in creating digital marketing campaigns aimed at attracting and retaining talent and businesses.
  • Help track and analyze metrics to measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide support in streamlining organizational communications.

Downtown Sandusky event and small business support:

  • Manage the artists and performers of the Sandusky Sunset Celebration event on Wednesday nights.
  • Collaborate with GSP staff to categorize Downtown Sandusky storefronts based on occupancy and redevelopment potential.
  • Review and categorize properties based on utilization of both ground and upper floors.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as intern will engage with stakeholders and assist with social media efforts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data collection and organization (advanced data analytics skills not required).
  • Comfort in conducting research, organizing information, and collaborating with multiple teams.
  • Passion for community development and a genuine interest in contributing to the Greater Sandusky region.
  • No specific major is required—students from various disciplines are encouraged to apply.
